Changing your wallet to receive WCT tokens you’re eligible in season 1 of the WCT Airdrop

A number of eligible registrants for the first season of the WCT airdrop were unable to claim their tokens due to wallet-specific reasons, like having a Smart Account that has a different address for different chains, or cannot be deployed on OP Mainnet.

To ensure these users can access the tokens they’re eligible to receive, a new option has been added to the airdrop claim page to enable claimants to change their recipient wallet address to an OP address that can successfully receive their allocation. This blog covers all you need to know about changing your wallet address for the airdrop.

How to change your wallet address

To change your wallet, you’ll need to:

  1. Head to airdrop.walletconnect.network
  2. Connect the original recipient wallet address you used to register for the airdrop
  3. Once connected, you should see the ‘Congratulations’ page outlining the number of tokens you’re eligible to receive
  4. Tap the “Change address” button in the “Claim” section on the page
  5. You’ll see a window pop-up prompting you to change your wallet address—tap connect and begin the process of adding your new OP wallet

What changing your wallet address means & next steps

Users that indicate they want to receive the airdrop into a new OP address cannot undo the decision, and will see the “Claim” button in the “Claim” section disappear once making the change. Users can can change their new recipient address multiple times until the end of the claim period on January 03, 2025, at 23:59 CET.

All changed wallets will follow the same sanctions & risk screening designed for the original airdrop, and WCT allocations will be distributed on January 07, 2025.

Users who registered for the airdrop and were ineligible will not be able to use this process to claim rewards for a different wallet, nor will users that do not have access to the wallet address they originally registered with.

Head to airdrop.walletconnect.network today to connect or change a wallet and receive any tokens you may be eligible for.
